A Visit to Primary Children's Hospital

Little Sarah was admited to Primary Children's on
friday night. Chelsea and Joey took her temperature
and it was 101 degrees. They called the doctor and
because of her age, he told them to take her to the
hospital. It was hard for them to believe, because
there were no other symptoms.
They were then told that they would have to stay
24 hours. Then they were told 48 hours. It
ended up being 36 hours.
All of her 12 hour tests came back negative.
Chelsea said that she didn't even cry when they
put her i.v. in or when she had her catheter. She
also had to have a spinal tap to check for meningitis.
Joey, after being up pretty much of the night!
Sweet little thing. She was so good and would just
lay there and sleep through most of her check ups
that were every 3 hours! Chelsea said that every nurse
or doctor that came into the room
would say they had heard about her and how beautiful she is. I
probably heard it a million times when i was there. I got to hold
her a lot. I was in heaven.

Okay, do you think this is the sign that I was taking too
many pictures? Joey was making himself available to
everyone, his boys and Chelsea and Sarah. Chelsea really
didn't sleep from friday to sunday morning! Sarah was released
Sunday morning. She tested positive for Human Metapneumovirus
(hMPV) which is a form of RSV. The doctor said it can be as dangerous as RSV or it could not. They have to really watch her for the next 5 to 7 days. The doctors and nurses were all amazed that she tested positive because she never had any of the symptoms except for the fever. It was a good thing that they are such good parents and followed their instincts. They have had an exciting first 2 weeks for their new little family. Thanks to Lindsey for spending the night with the boys on friday and taking them all day on saturday. Yes she does earn the "favorite aunt" award from Keat and Isaac.
